Arjun makes rare appearance in RS during Bhopal gas debate

Delhi 11 Aug. 2010, Arjun Singh made a rare appearance in the Rajya Sabha today when the House took up a short duration discussion on the recent developments relating to the Bhopal gas tragedy.
The septuagenarian leader, who was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh when the Bhopal gas tragedy took place, arrived in a wheel chair soon after BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad initiated the discussion on the issue.
BJP has alleged that Singh played a role in the exit of the then Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson from the country as he was provided a state government aircraft from Bhopal to Delhi.
When Ashwani Kumar (Congress) said unnecessary inference should not be drawn now and innuendos made as regards who allowed Anderson to go out of the country then, BJP members pointed out that Arjun Singh was present in the House and he should respond to the charges.
