Fairs for poor

Gwalior, Aug 13:
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced that special fairs will be organised at various places after the monsoon to ensure that the impoverished benefit from schemes targeted at their welfare.
''A Town Development Scheme will be prepared by this year's end,'' he said while addressing a welfare schemes' convention -- at the Phoolbagh Maidan here -- that coincided with the foundation stone-laying of development schemes amounting to Rs 40 crore.
Among those present were state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra, Minister of State for Home Narayan Singh Kushwah, Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary Narendra Singh Tomar, state unit President Prabhat Jha and MP Yashodhara Raje Scindia.

Muslim Manch discussion
Gwalior, Aug 13:
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's ex-sarsanghchalak K S Sudarshan will be Chief Speaker tomorrow during the Muslim Rashtriya Manch's discussion titled 'Madre Watan Hindustan se Mohabbat Musalmano ka Dili Jazba' (Affection for motherland India is Muslims' heartfelt desire) at Madhav College here.
Manch Convenor P R Qureshi and Haji Ashfaq Qureshi told media that other Manch convenors Mohammad Afzal and Giri Jual will also speak. Awards and certificates will be distributed to children who win a competition on Islam. Besides, ulema, maulvis and imams will be honoured.
